Summer Ward is a writer and director based in NYC and Los Angeles. Her work is known its colorful, feminine style, exploring themes of coming of age, queer identity, and where nature meets myth.

She has experience developing both narrative and commercial projects, with a strong practical foundation shaped by years as an Assistant Camera and on the production department of an ABC Network television show. She especially loves to shoot on film, and teaches workshops about Super 8, in collaboration with Kodak, at their event space in Hollywood, CA.

Outside of filmmaking, she pursues other artistic interests, including design, fashion styling, and poetry. She has a published poetry zine, Love Thesis, which is available in independent bookstores around the Los Angeles area.
